Scores of Pikes have served in our Nation’s wars with more than 600 brothers serving in Vietnam, with 81 making the ultimate sacrifice. The Fraternity’s Memorial Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, honors this gallant service with a Gold Star Heroes exhibit which includes the uniform of 2LT Paul H. Eklund (Linfield, Delta Rho ’61), who served in the U.S. Army in Company A, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division in the Vietnam War. An Executive Officer, Brother Eklund was killed in action while engaged in a search-and-destroy mission near Bien Hoa, Vietnam on November 11, 1965. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Silver Star.

Our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum are complemented by hints of toasted oak, dried currant and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.
